what you need
3 ripe frozen bananas
1/4 cup almond butter (recipe below)
1/4 cup cacao
for homemade almond butter
(these amounts will make extra butter)
300g activated almonds
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp raw honey
chopped almonds, roasted coconut chips and cacao nibs (to serve)
what to do
Place almonds and salt in a blender or food processor and mill until begins to form a paste.
Add coconut oil, cinnamon and honey. Blend for 5 minutes slowly increasing speed until smooth. Stop and scrap down the sides of blender as needed. Butter may seem runny but will thicken over time. Set aside in fridge.
Place bananas, homemade almond butter and cacao into blender and blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl as needed.
Divide into bowls and top with chopped almonds, roasted coconut chips and cacao nibs. Enjoy!!
notes
If you like a firmer texture, put in the freezer for 1-2 hours. The longer it is kept in the freezer the harder it will be.
